Rhine Falls is not one viewpoint. Neuhausen on the northern bank gives the broad frontal scene; Schloss Laufen on the southern bank leads through ticketed platforms closer to the water. Choose one bank for a short visit or connect both when you have half a day.
Two banks, two perspectives
The Neuhausen side opens toward the full width of the falls and the river basin. It suits a free-form visit, broad photographs and access from Neuhausen Rheinfall station. The Schloss Laufen side is more structured: castle grounds, visitor facilities and platforms descend toward the spray.
Do not cross informally along railway infrastructure. Use signed pedestrian connections and current public transport. If time is tight, pick the bank matching your priority instead of rushing between both.
Boats and seasonal choices
Boat trips are a separate seasonal experience, not necessary for seeing the waterfall. Routes, dog rules, accessibility and operation vary, and water or weather conditions can change service. Confirm the exact route with the operator before building it into a timed connection.
